1. No the narrator does not like writing ghost stories. He does not specialize in them. He often wonders how he ended up getting ideas and plots for them. Since his first dash at fiction was a ghost story and it was well received by the audience, his publisher began pestering him to write more and more such stories. It is only later on that he gets a knack of writing such stories and begins to enjoy writing them.
 
2. Despite Calpurnia’s arguments that in view of her nightmare and unnatural occurrences witnessed by the watchman, he should not take the risk of going out. Ceasar insists upon going to the senate. She then comments that his overconfidence was overshadowing his wisdom. She then advices them to be practical.
 
3. Helen’s appearance before Hallock was queer. She did not materialize in one go. Instead she appeared in bits and parts out of nowhere. First one of her arms came out, then a bit of sleeve of her stiff white shirt waist, then a leg and a plaid skirt, until she assumed her complete shape.
