REET 2026 - Complete Guide: 5-Option OMR Rule, Level 1 and Level 2 Pattern, Rajasthan GK, REET Mains and Free Mock Tests
The REET (Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers) is conducted by BSER (Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan) for eligibility certification for primary and upper primary teaching in Rajasthan government schools. REET has two levels: Level 1 (Classes 1-5, 5 sections of 30Q each: Child Development, Hindi, Language II, Maths, EVS) and Level 2 (Classes 6-8, with a 60-question subject section for Maths-Science or Social Studies). Each level has 150 questions, 150 marks, 2.5 hours, offline OMR mode. REET 2025 was held 27-28 February 2025 with result declared 27 May 2026. A landmark change in REET 2025: 5-option OMR introduced with 1/3 negative marking for wrong AND blank answers. The 5th option "None of the Above" carries 0 marks and no penalty - the safe choice for uncertain questions. Candidates must attempt at least 90% of questions or face disqualification. Qualifying marks: 60% (90/150) for General, 55% for OBC/SC/ST/PwBD. REET certificates are lifetime valid.
REET is an eligibility test only - the actual Grade 3 teacher recruitment happens through REET Mains conducted by RSSB (Rajasthan Staff Selection Board). REET Mains 2025 had 7,759 vacancies with exam held January 17-21, 2026. REET Mains uses 150 questions at 2 marks each (300 total), 2.5 hours, 4 options (standard), and covers Rajasthan GK, subject knowledge, educational scenario and information technology. Selected candidates become Grade 3 teachers at Pay Level 10 (Rs.56,100 to Rs.1,77,500). REET's distinctive features vs other state TETs: 5-option OMR (unique), 1/3 negative for blanks (unique), Punjabi as Language II option (not in CTET), and heavy Rajasthan-specific content in EVS (Level 1), Social Studies (Level 2) and REET Mains.
Our free REET mock tests cover all general aptitude sections - General Studies (Child Development, pedagogy, NCF 2005, NEP 2020), General Knowledge and Awareness (including Rajasthan GK), General Intelligence and Reasoning, Numerical and Mathematical Ability (Mathematics section) and English Language (Language II option) - available topic-wise at zero cost at StudiesToday.com.
