Activity 1: Representing Data on Pictograph

Required Materials: Glue, small bindis, and a sheet of paper.

Activity 2: Representing Data Using Tally Marks

Show a food picture to about 30 of your classmates.

Find the most popular dish among your classmates. Give small paper slips to everyone and ask them to write down their favorite dish. Fold the slips and place them in a box.

Pick up the first slip. If it says "samosa", draw a single tally mark "|" next to samosa in your table. If the next one is "pizza", draw a tally mark next to pizza. Keep doing this. After four marks, draw the fifth mark across to make a group of 5.
